Dress for Success® is a program that helps economically disadvantaged women acquire jobs, retain their new positions, and succeed in the mainstream workplace. Our service directly benefits the individual woman, her family, and the larger community by changing and improving her economic paradigm and allowing her to be an economically participatory member of the community.
These suits are the first step to self-sufficiency and they symbolize our faith and firm belief in every woman’s ability to succeed and have equal opportunity in the workforce. Each client referred to our organization is treated with the utmost dignity and respect while being assisted by a volunteer “personal shopper”. The personal shopper helps the client select an appropriate interview suit and accessories from our boutique, supplies her with personal care items and interview tips. We believe that providing power suits to women gives them the boost of confidence that helps them make the all-important good first impression. Once they get the job, they can return to Dress for Success NW Minnesota® for a work wardrobe to ensure that they do not have to spend their first paycheck on appropriate outfits for work.
